LEARY, A. Reid, age 71, of Upper Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with his family by his side. Born, Alexander Reid Leary on June 18, 1941, in Upper Falmouth, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Elias and Pauline (Parker) Leary. Reid was a truck driver by trade and hauled heavy equipment for LaFarge and Dexter Construction. He loved to go fishing at the camp at Panuke Lake and in earlier days he also enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Clara Orilla Dearman; his children, Steven (Leisa), Falmouth; William (Lorraine), Falmouth; and Betty-Jo Leary, St. Croix; grandchildren, Kayla Leary, A.J. Whitehead and Mackenzie Benedict; his step-mother, Ella Leary, New Ross; sisters, Anna (Wayne) Langille, Newport Station; Sandra Langille, Amherst; Doreen (Gerry) Allen, Windsor; brothers, Wayne (Myrna) Leary, Newport Station; Victor “Vic” (Pam) Leary, Falmouth. Besides his parents, Elias and Pauline (Parker) Leary; he was predeceased by a brother, William “Bill” Leary; brother-in-law, Gary Langille. Visitation was held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 10, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor (902-798-2232). Funeral service was 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Lindsay`s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tom Henderson officiated. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King Street, Windsor, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Reid, were requested to be made to Unit 200 or 500 of the Hants Community Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
