The death occurred peacefully, with family at her side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Saturday, May 18, 2013, of Marie Gallant, beloved wife of the late Leroy “Hubba”, of North Rustico, age 69.
Marie was the devoted mother of Carl (Karen) and Mary Lynn Gallant (Robbie); and grandmother of Brandon and Cassie, and Jorden. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, William Pineau (Eleanor), Bonita Pineau (Carl), Gregory, Willis, Francis, Ricky (Cathy), Paul (Sharon) and David (Pauline); brother-in-law, Sinclair Gallant (Eileen); sisters-in-law, Lucy LeClair (Leonard) and Regina Doucette; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend and bingo companion, Terri-Lee Gibbs.
Besides her husband, Hubba, she was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Leonia (Gallant) Pineau; two brothers, in infancy; and her brothers-in-law, Earl and Raymond Gallant and Jackie Doucette.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing scented products.
