ARLENE KOLOSKY

Arlene Viola Kolosky aged 69 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully in her home on June 15, 2013, with her beloved family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Viola Rudd of Kamsack, SK. Arlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Wes; daughter Trish (Bob) Gottselig, grandchildren Allison and Nicole of Moose Jaw; son Colin (Denise) Kolosky, grandchildren Emma and Olivia of Saskatoon; sister Jacqueline (Reg) Ross of Ladysmith, BC; brothers, Wayne Rudd (Donella) and Ken Rudd (Carol) of Calgary; also numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene read many books and loved doing research, it was her dream to work in a library and in 1996 she completed her Library Technician Program from SAIT in Calgary. Arlene then worked with the La Ronge Public Library and later Northern Lights School Division. Arlene and Wes moved to Moose Jaw in 2006, after 20 years of living in La Ronge. Arlene had a great passion for music and she sang with many groups including: the Moose Jaw Chapter of Sweet Adelines, Moose Jaw Heritage Singers, and the Family Praise and Worship Group. She loved flowers, her garden and bird watching. Her yard was on the Moose Jaw Garden Tour in 2011. It was her dream to grow this lovely yard. Her love for nature was a driving force, to maintain and nurture this special place. Arlene had a strong desire to establish a Hospice in Moose Jaw, for the ability to enable people to die with dignity. Arlene’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at the Five Hills Palliative Care Unit. The service provided by the home care team was excellent and appreciated. Special thanks to the loving care of R.N Lisa Tipper. A celebration of Arlene’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Father Rick Krofchek will preside. Family memorialization will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arlene’s memory may be made to the Five Hills Health Region, please indicate “Palliative Program”, c/o 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3.
