Norman MacRae

Peacefully in his sleep, at his late residence on Friday, March 28, 2014 of Norman MacRae, of 25 Pleasant St., Kensington, and formerly of Spring Brook, aged 88 years.
Born in Spring Brook, December 14, 1925, son of late William W. and Ada B. (Paynter) MacRae.
Husband of the late Muriel E. (Paynter) MacRae. Father of Adelaide (Elmer) MacAusland, Austin (Paula) MacRae, George (Nancy) MacRae, Marie Ramsay, and Cindy MacRae (Arthur Burt). Father-in-law of Jack McKie. Grandfather of 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Brother of Bennett MacRae and Hugh (Gloria) MacRae. Brother-in-law of Herbert (Margaret) Paynter, Gladys Stavert, Joan (Wesley) Cole, Brenda Baglole and Mollie Paynter. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Ann McKie; son-in-law, Alen Clark; brother, Borden MacRae; sisters, Marion MacRae, Eileen MacLean and Erma Oakes; brothers-in-law, Douglas Paynter, Albert Stavert and Charles Oakes; and sister-in-law, Irene MacRae.
Norman loved the Island and spent many hours watching the birds visit his feeders. He enjoyed many visits from both family and friends. He was a man gifted always with a quick wit.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Tuesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
