BURKE, Wayne – age 68, of Mainshore Road, Yarmouth, passed away on April 7th 2014. Born December 6, 1945 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Clarence and Irene Burke. Wayne was a hard worker and devoted much of his time to many organizations. He was an active member of Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue, the Civil Air Search and Rescue and the Digby and Area Lions Club. He was also an avid woodworker and hunter. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judy (Killam) Burke; sons; Corey and Terry (Lori) Burke; grandchildren, Nathen, Brandon, Morgan, and Tyler. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request of the family. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, Deacon Stephen Bourque officiated. Burial took place in Chegoggin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Ground Search and Rescue or to the Digby and Area Lions Club.
