It is with great sadness that we announce Alexander Bresson beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 14, 2014.
Born in Glace Bay, N.S., on June 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Alexander and Marguerite (Macdougal) Bresson.
Predeceased by his sister Marguerite Gaetan.
Alex is survived by his loving wife Mae (Green); daughters, Lisa (Jonas) Naphtali and Alexa (Mike Francisco); cherished grandchildren, Maggie, Juliet and Manuel who brought him much joy; siblings, Donna (Stewart) Merrill, Kathy (John) Gaetan, Francis (Linda) Bresson, Debbie (Paul) O’Hanley, Danny (Grace) Bresson, Blanche (Gordon) Ferguson, Raymond (Gail) Bresson, Mary Gaetan and many nieces and nephews. Also leaves behind his wife’s sisters Mary (Paul) Foley, Nadine ( Joseph) Cullen, Christine Elliott (Brian Hastings) and brother Peter Green (Geri Masters) and their children.
Alex had a great love of life and people and lived his life mainly for his family. He had a vast number of friends across Canada and strong bonds with his siblings. An electrician by trade, he was a member of the IBEW Union Local 625 for 46 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the L.W.F Fire Department and spent a lot of his time on outdoor activities like camping, fishing and hunting.
He will be missed greatly and remembered as a loving person who valued the happiness of others and always had a story to tell.
Visitation to be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 7-9 p.m. and funeral services on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. Both will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church located at 9 Jamieson Drive in Fall River.
