The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2014, of Helen Margaret MacInnis (nee Turner) of Charlottetown, age 86. Much loved mother of Robert “Bob” (Charlotte Poole) MacInnis and Heather (Gary) Walker. Dear grandmother of Robert (Kate McDonald) Walker, Toronto; and Michael (Nicole) Walker, Charlottetown. Survived by brothers Jack (Betty – predeceased) and Barry (Nicole) Turner, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Helen Turner, sister Zelda Stuart, mother-in-law Loretta “Ret” MacInnis and her beloved young daughter Karen. Helen grew up in Charlottetown and was well-known as the owner of the Bright Spot Grocery, at the corner of North River Road and the Trans-Canada Highway. Helen loved sunshine, traveling and spending time with family and friends, especially eating out with her “Saturday Brunch Ladies”. She had a special spot in her heart for her two grandsons Rob and Mike, who will always cherish the memory of their “Grammie Helen”. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where the service will be held on Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m. Interment later in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only, however, if so desired, memorial donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation or Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
