McLEOD, MARGARET - Margaret (Tilley) McLeod, dearly loved by family and friends, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 at the age of 78. As a woman of faith, and the heart of her family, she will be greatly missed. Born in Guisborough, England, she was preceded in death by parents, Noel and Ivy Tilley, sister Jean (Frank) Estabrooks, and brothers Harry (Jean) and Norman (Phyllis) Tilley. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Colin McLeod; children, Mark (Dawn-Marie) McLeod, Leslie (Greg) Parlee, Mary (Sheldon) Knox, Colin (Janet) McLeod and Stacy (Troy) Futher; as well as sisters, Doreen Mercer, Ivy (George) Beal; brother, Ron (Arvella) Tilley; sister-in-law; Jean Tilley and 12 grandchildren, Justin Comeau; Laura (BJ) Nooyen, Brett Parlee; Mackenzie, Garrett and Christy Knox, Hannah, Louisa, Joel and Jacob McLeod and Adam and Cole Futher; as well as God-daughter and "best friend" Jillian (Tweedie) Snider. She also will be missed by her family in England and many other nieces and nephews. A member of St George’s Anglican Church, she served there for over 50 years (Altar guild, choir, Sunday school, prayer chain and wherever else there was need). She was a faithful prayer warrior, always enjoyed a good book and could be seen daily walking miles around the neighborhood. She most loved spending time with her family who have cherished memories of her love and care. The family thanks the nurses and staff at the Moncton hospital and Doctors Dow and MacDonald as well as faithful friend and priest Chris VanBuskirk.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at St. George’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 am with The Reverend Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Westcock Cemetery at a later date. In Margaret’s memory, donations to St. George’s Anglican Church, Friends of The Moncton Hospital or St. Ann’s Anglican Church, Westcock, NB would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at
