Danielle Guercio

Passed on: April 4th, 2014

Danielle Marie Guercio (nee Hurtig) passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 in her husband’s embrace. She leaves behind her loving husband, Marco, her parents-in-law Frank and Antonia Guercio, brother-in-law Davio, her parents Denise and Chad Krusky, her siblings Takota Hurtig & Lee Koch, her grandparents Peggy & Wallace Brewer, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and of course, her loyal puppy, Turtle.
Danielle leaves a large void with anyone who knew her. She will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature, her love of family and friends, and for the positive and graceful way she fought her courageous battle over the past few years. She had the ability to make everyone around her to feel special and loved. Danielle embraced all of life’s moments & found joy in the sun rising, the birds chirping and especially in being a loving wife to her soul mate, Marco.
The family would like to thank Dr. Khoo, Dr. Mohamed, Dr. Fyles, Dr. Williams, Dr. Banwell, Dr. Splawinksi (Vernon) and all the wonderful, beautiful caring staff at KGH on floor 4B & the Cancer Clinic.
Prayers were held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. Charles Garnier Catholic Parish, 3665 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC, with the funeral service at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Interment followed at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
She grasped that unexpected things were always going to happen
in life. And with that she realized the only control she had was
how she chose to handle them. So, she made the decision to
survive using courage, humor and grace. She was the Angel of
her own life and the choice was hers.
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mem.com, clicking on stories and typing in her name. Arrangements entrusted with First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna. 250-762-2299
