The death occurred suddenly at West Point on Saturday, April 19, 2014, of Alton "Buzz" Rix of West Point aged 74, beloved husband of Alma (nee Stewart). Buzz was born on the Locke Road December 20, 1939, son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Ellis) Rix. Cherished father to Rodney, West Cape; Randy (Tiphanie), Fredericton, NB; and Amy (Mannix) Butler, West Point. Loving grandfather to Logan, Megan and Rebecca. Buzz is also survived by sisters Margie (James) MacWilliams, Springfield West; Barb (Frank) Sweet, Knutsford; half sisters and brothers Orell Smallman, Knutsford; Helen MacNeill, Charlottetown; Arnold (Eileen) Smallman, Knutsford; Ellis Smallman, Alma; Elwood Smallman, Summerside; sisters and brothers-in-law: Audrey (Lindy) MacDonald, West Point; David (Rhona) Stewart, Sarnia, ON; Norma (Ronald) MacLeod, Argyle Shore; Pauline (Hakan) Hedberg, Vancouver, BC; Donald (Susan) Stewart, West Point; Margaret (John) Sweet, Forest View; Helen (Charlie) McCarthy, Campbellton; Harvey (Carolyn) Stewart, West Point; Jimmy (Pauline) Stewart, Saint John, NB; Geraldine Stewart, West Point; Click Stewart, Charlottetown; and Myrtle Rix, Summerside. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Alvin, Myron, Birch, sister Mae Costain, half brother Jack Smallman, brothers-in-law Allen Stewart and John Stewart. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment to follow in the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. In memory of Buzz, memorials to the Corpus Christi Cemetery Fund or the Springfield West Baptist Cemetery Restoration Fund would be appreciated.
