The death of George occurred at his grandson’s home in Thorburn, June 26.
Born in Island East River, Geordie was predeceased by his parents, George and Catherine (Saunders) and a brother, Joseph (Rose) Little.
After working for many years at Canada Envelope, he chose to make a living working on the land while living for many years in Hopewell. His generosity to various charities was little known. He will be sorely missed.
Surviving are, a sister Gloria (Donny) Rumley: step-sons Barry (Michelle) and Keith (Andrea) Townshend, Alberta: grandchildren: Shane (Michelle), Steven (Karlee) Townshend, Pictou Co. and Ruby Townshend, Alberta; plus five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for his ashes will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 12, in the Riverton Cemetery. George’s cousin, The Rev. Gary Tonks, presiding.
