O'CONNOR, Florence Margaret (nee Smith)
We mourn the passing of Florence of Moose Jaw on Thursday, July 10, 2014. Florence was predeceased by her husband Jerry O'Connor; son Duane O'Connor; parents Tom and Gladys Smith; brothers Gerald and Vern Smith; and sister Joyce Zintel. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Cathy O'Connor; grandchildren Jamie (Ben) Spark and Elliot O'Connor; great grandchildren Ethan and Ryder Spark; brother-in-law Bob Zintel; sisters-in-law Betty Smith and Alice Smith; brothers Glen (Kathy) Smith and Larry (Linda) Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Florence was born on a farm near Brownlee, SK on February 18, 1928 where she lived until she moved to Ontario and met her husband Jerry. Florence and Jerry were married in 1953 and were blessed with 47 years together. They lived in Hagersville, ON, Moose Jaw, SK, and Dundas, ON. In recent years Florence moved back to Moose Jaw. She loved a good joke, baseball games, scratch lottery tickets, and hearing of the exploits of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. After a brief illness she passed away peacefully in the loving presence of family and has moved on to be with Jerry and Duane. A CELEBRATION OF FLORENCE'S LIFE will be held at Trinity United Church, 277 Iroquois Street West, Moose Jaw, SK on Monday July 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 3Z4.
