With broken hearts we the family of Sid MacLean announce his passing on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.
Sid was born Nov. 7, 1961. Raised on Mira Road, he was the son of Wilfred and Sandra (Muise) MacLean.
Sid was a welder and jack of all trades. He was a former member of the pipefitters union- Local 682. He loved telling stories and his infectious laugh soon followed. He was a kind gentleman who loved his family with his heart and soul.
He is survived by his loving devoted wife, Robin (Matheson). They raised their two children on Hillside Road, Mira, daughter, Dana (Derek) Rendell, Hillside, Mira, son, Travis (Renee Mechelse), Calgary, Alta.; his precious granddaughters, Mya and Macie Rendell, who gave him unconditional love and laughter throughout his journey. He is also survived by his sister Darlene (Ken) Bickerton; brothers, John (Susan), Alex (Janet) and Vince, mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Floyd Matheson.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 6-9 p.m.
A memorial service will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2014, at the Union Presbyterian Church, Mira Ferry, with Rev. Lydia MacKinnon officiating.
