The death occurred at her late residence on Sunday, July 13, 2014, of Edna Gallant Arsenault, aged 103 years, wife of the late Joseph F. Arsenault. Edna was born in Urbanville, P.E.I., daughter of the late Joseph and Marianne Gallant. It is believed Edna was the oldest person to have ever lived on the Duvar Road. Survived by daughter Marie McKenna, Ellerslie; sons Alfred and Cedric, Duvar; Wilfred (Helen), O’Leary and son-in-law Harold Millar, Barrie, Ont.; 17 grandchildren: Elaine, Michael, Brenda, Claudette, Peter, Paulette, Jason, Linda, Gordie, Donnie, Darren, Kelly, Tammy, Shelly, Sharon, Tracey, Kevin; 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Lucienne Gallant. Predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter Rena (Benoit) Poirier, daughter Theresa Miller, son-in-law Bernie McKenna, daughter-in-law Carol Arsenault, great-grandchild Harrison’s James MacIsaac; brothers Henri, Honore (Eva) Gallant; sisters-in-law Sophie (Redman) Riley and Eva (George) Arsenault. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours on Monday, July 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 10 a.m. on Tuesday then to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In memory of Edna, memorials to St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
