HAMILTON, Carol Nellie- age 74, of Dayton, N.S. passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 14, 2014. Born in Yarmouth N.S. on June 16, 1940, she was a daughter to the late Forrest and Muriel (Moses) Bain. Carol was a loving wife and friend to many. She spent nearly 25 years working at the Yarmouth Curling Club, and worked with the Sherriff Department and Community Services. She was a member of the Yarmouth Lions Club and held many positions including being the first female King Lion at the club. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Brooklyn Seniors Club. She was an avid volunteer and most proud of her Governor General award for outstanding volunteer work. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Gordon “Gordie” Hamilton, Dayton; brothers, Sandy (Gail) Bain, Hebron; Russell Bain, Halifax; sisters, Janet (Tammy) Dunn, Hebron; Joan Bain, B.C. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of Carol’s life was held Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the Yarmouth Lions Club, Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment will be in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Yarmouth Lions Club.
