It is with sadness the family and friends of the late William Toope (Nov. 17, 1945 – June 16, 2014) announce his passing on June 16, 2014 at the palliative care unit at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. He leaves to mourn sister Rowena; brother Jacob; friend Eileen Toope, and families. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Maria, siblings, Alma, Rita, Ethel, Margaret, Melina and Ellen. Visitation took place June 17 and 18 at St. Mary’s Church in Black Duck Cove. The funeral service was held on June 19, 2014, 2 p.m. at the Anglican Cemetery in Black Duck Cove. Funeral director was Lee Nippard of K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. William will be fondly remembered by friends Eileen, Margaret and Norman, the Toopes, Rylands, Doyles, Genges, Rowena and families, Jacob and families and a large circle of nieces and nephews.
