Passed on: July 13th, 2014
It was with heartfelt sadness that we announced the passing of our Dad, Victor, who passed peacefully on July 13, 2014, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with his loving family by his side. Dad was born to our grandparents the late Halley & Jean (Fielding) Mosher, on Jan. 29, 1933, in Ste. Croix, Hants County. It was here that his heart always remained and where he chose to start his family and perfect his long and respected career in carpentry. When Clayton Park was but a street, Dad received design built awards for many homes in the area and continued his career, without retiring, until his illness. Dad was a long standing member of the Uniacke Masonic Lodge, No.128, A.F. & A.M., for 44 years and was a past Master; and also had a great passion for softball, fishing and hunting; especially in Cape Breton, moose hunting with Linda and all the “BOYS”. One of Dad’s biggest joys in life was playing horseshoes, winning several trophies over the years and holding many of his own tournaments, which usually turned into a family and friend gathering. We feel so fortunate to have enjoyed all of this and to have so many more wonderful memories. Dad taught us so much in life and how to live it with pride, honor, and integrity. We will miss his knowledge and guidance and infectious smile every day. Dad has left behind his loving partner “housekeeper” Linda of over 30 years and her son, Mike Forsyth (Wanda); his daughter, Valora (Tim Webb); sons, Michael (Jacqui), and Douglas; daughter, Susan, and their mother; Rose; sisters, Joan; brother, Glen (Eleanor); sister, Myrna (Roger); sisters-in-law, Marion and Gena; and several grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends; and he will be sadly missed. Besides parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Roger and Neil; brother-in-law, Andy Gibson. We would all like to express our gratitude for the compassionate care given by the staff of the Hants Community Hospital. Because of Dad’s community involvement and his many friends and family; the family invited everyone to an open graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Ste. Croix Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Ste. Croix. Donations in memory of Victor were requested to be made to the Ste. Croix United Church or to the Palliative Care unit of the Hants Community Hospital. Arrangement were under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. To add your condolence or make a donation, click on Contribute, at: www.lindsaysfuneralhome.com
