WHYNOT - Harold E., 78, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home on July 14th, surrounded by his very loving family. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Kenneth Charles and Florence (Stewart) Westhaver-Whynot. Harold worked on the gypsum boats and was a barkeep for a number of years before starting Harold E. Whynot Contracting. He was a blacksmith and shod many horses in his time. He was also a veteran of the woodpile for over thirty years. He will be lovingly remembered by his family as a great father and grandfather; as a master surgeon to many toys, a patient driving instructor to all his children and loved his dogs. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Roy; his daughters Jacqueline Johnson of Hubley, Sandy (Jamie) Legge of Milton, Tammy Whynot (David Henderson) of Brooklyn; his sons Kevin (Joanne Johnson) of Liverpool, Garry (Barbara) of Charleston, Larry (Betty Jean) of Mill Village, Harold (Denise) of Liverpool; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; Son-in-law Terry Kaulback of Lunenburg; Sisters Dorothy (Milton) Dorey of Mader’s Cove, Hazel Roach of Bridgewater, Rita (Bill) Wells of Liverpool, brothers Burton (Jean) of Liverpool, Mike (Debbie) of Dartmouth, Freeman (Anna) of Liverpool; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Ann Kaulback, sisters Elsie Ingram, Lizzie Slauenwhite, Rhoda Whynot and Florrie Whynot, brothers Donald Stewart, Kenneth Whynot, Leo Westhaver, Daniel Whynot. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17 from 7 until 9p.m. and funeral service will be Friday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m., both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool with Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Burial in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses, Queens County Branch or to Queens General Hospital Foundation.
