Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at Chancellor Park on July 20, 2014. Mary, a long time resident of Grand-Falls Windsor, relocated to St. John's following the death of her beloved husband Patrick F. Kearney, August 1990. Mary was a 1939 graduate of the General Hospital School of Nursing and enjoyed a long career as a nurse and a business operator with her husband Pat. During her retirement years, Mary enjoyed the company of her extended family and friends at 25 Tiffany Lane and for the past five years at Chancellor Park. Born in Cupids, C.B., Mary was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Beehan and her siblings, sisters Marguerite and Loretta, and brothers Edward, William, James, and Thomas Beehan. Left to celebrate her long life are loving nieces Marilyn Wright (Allen), Marguerite Peddigrew (Robert), Patricia Hawksley (Fred), Louise Skirving (Paul), Karen Beehan (Jimmy, deceased), Jacinta Mackey-Graham (Tom), Eleanor Geary (Peter), Brenda King (Derm, deceased), Madonna Pike (Terry, deceased), Bernadette Beehan, Maureen Penny, Lorraine Fletcher, Cathy Beehan Dempsey (Mike); nephews James Beehan( Margaret Ann), Gerald Beehan (Jill), David Beehan(Linda), Richard Mackey(Cathy) and Patrick Mackey (Juanita). Mary also leaves the Kearney family and friends in Northern Ireland. Throughout her long life, Aunt Mary as she was known to her nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren was a devoted matriarch whose calm demeanour, sense of humour and love of life were an inspiration to all. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Chancellor Park for their exceptional care and kindness shown to Aunt Mary during her stay. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church. Following the service, Mary will be brought home to Grand-Falls Windsor for burial. In lieu of flowers Contributions to the P.F. Kearney Memorial Scholarship Fund at Memorial University would be appreciated.
