Lee, Edith Kerr – age 83 years of Windermere, passed away with her loving family by her side at the Valley Regional Hospital after losing her battle with cancer. Mom was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Beattie and her three brothers Thomas, James and George. She was also predeceased by her husband Kenneth with whom she ran their family farm. Mom also worked for years at the Berwick Fruit Company and Bargain Harley’s. Mom and Dad lived their lives in Windermere where they raised their three children Carl (Donna) Lee of Windermere, Peggy (Don) Lee-Barkhouse of Ross Creek and Kim (Carroll) Publicover of Bridgewater; sister Janet Morse of Berwick. She was the proud grandmother of seven; Nicole, Matthew, Gregory, Amie, Mandy, Latasha and Tyler. Mom was also the great grandmother (G.G) to Makayla, Cassidy, Braydon, Dylan and Mya. Her love of family and friends was ever present. In her early years she could be found at her cottage on Lake George or playing darts, cards or tending her weekly yard sale tables with her friend Norma. She loved road trips and going out for lunch. Mom was a determined and strong minded person, living her life to the fullest, meeting all of her health issues head on. The family wish to thank the staff at the Valley Regional for making her last days comfortable and for the care and compassion they showed to all her family. Mom will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A family graveside service will take place. The family invited friends to join them at the Windermere Community Hall for a celebration of life on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetic Association or the Windermere Community Club.
