Hubert Reginald Toole, 86 of Manchester passed away July 31, 2014. Born in Leicester, NS, he was the son of Percy & Nita (Carter). Hubert was known as a mechanical genius. He was a millwright and machinist by trade, working with Nova Construction throughout the Atlantic Provinces. He was co-owner and operator of Toole’s Machine and Sport Shop in Truro, NS; retiring to Manchester in 1980. He was known in the community as the go to person to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Edna (Hadley) Toole, His children Heather Hadley (John), Debra Martin (Tim), Howard Toole (Heather), Jonathan Toole (Charmaine), Susan Gibb (Brian). His grandchildren; Steven (Marilee), Sandra, Sheila (Kimberley), Justin (Adrienne), Jerrod (Shelly), Jessica (Alex), Ryan (Lesley), Robyn, Nicholas, Sarah, Jacob and great grandchildren Jordan, Nevaeh, Serenity, Natalie, Braun, and Rachel. His brothers, Willard, Albert, Earl, Alton, sisters Sadie and Dollie. He is predeceased by sisters Jane and Miriam, brothers Merle, Gordon, and Ross. Hubert’s family wishes to thank all GASHA health care teams for their care and compassion. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. The funeral will be Monday, August 4th,2014 at the Boylston United Church at 2pm. Viewing at the church from 1-2pm. Burial to follow at the United Church Cemetery. Donations may be made in Hubert’s name to the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
