It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Daryl Patrick (Pat) Caswell, age 64, of Balgonie, SK on Friday, August 1, 2014. Pat was born on July 15, 1950, in Regina and moved to Swift Current at an early age, where he received his education and graduated from OM Irwin Collegiate in 1968. Pat worked at CJFB-TV in Swift Current, where he met Anita Jadischke. Pat and Anita were married in Swift Current, then moved to Regina. They would later make their home in Balgonie, but have since separated. Pat began his career at CKCK-TV in 1975. He was still employed with CTV at the time of his passing. Pat loved his job and the people he worked with over his 39 years at the television station. Pat was very reliable, dedicated and thorough in his job, and was always very eager to learn and work with the new technology that was associated with it. Pat was a kind and gentle person, who would help anyone without hesitation. He belonged to the Ham Radio Club (VE5AE0) where he made many friends from around the world and volunteered many hours for events such as marathons and Saskatchewan Roughrider football games. Pat loved aviation, air shows, photography, and travel. He had a special place in his heart for his cats ‘Patches’ & ‘Rascal’. Pat was predeceased by his parents, Mert & Jean Caswell. He leaves to mourn his brother, Mike (Lynn) of Swift Current: nephew, Clayton (Rhonda) of Regina: great-nieces, Gabrielle and Olivia: nephews, Curtis and Christopher of Swift Current; brother, Kelly (Sharon) of Regina: nephew, Scott (Tara): great-niece, Penelope of Saskatoon: nephew, Ryan (Jolene) of Regina; sister; Maureen (Russ) Hanson: and nieces, Kirsten and Lauren of Swift Current. A Private Graveside Memorial Service was held on Monday, August 11, 2014, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with Rev. Annette Taylor officiating. In memory of Pat Caswell, donations made to the Regina Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
