Mary Elizabeth Lockhart, age 69, of Pictou Landing, formerly of Westville, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family by her side.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Rita (MacGillivary) Mattatall, Westville.

Mary enjoyed working with people and was a retired employee of Sobeys and Lawtons. She loved to see a smiling face.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Shelley, at home; son, Derrick (Julia), Pictou Landing; grandson, Calen; brothers, Roy Mattatall (Diane), London, Ont.; Gary Mattatall (Helen), Westville; sister, Catherine MacPhie, Antigonish; special cousin, Cathy, Cobourg, Ont.; very dear friend, Jim Wolfe, Trenton; nieces and nephews, Kim and Kelly, Rickey and Michelle Mattatall. She is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella Ogden, Jean Burgess, Marie Jenkins (Art); Bill Lockhart (Louise), Gerald Lockhart (Jean), and Audrey Lockhart.

She was predeceased by her husband Ralph; sister Aggie Mattatall; mother and father-in-law, John and Violet Lockhart; nephew, Craig Mattatall; sister-in-law, Claudia Guay (Jack) and brother-in-law John “Bud” Lockhart.

Mary is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held 1 o’clock Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Pastor Kevin Mattatall officiating.
