Rose Carter

Carter, Rose Loretta – age 100, Brookfield, passed away August 25, 2014 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. She was the daughter of the late John and Loretta Morrisey. She worked for 25 years as a cook at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Rose loved to bowl and was a member of several bowling leagues. She enjoyed people, loved family reunions and also her time spent in Wynn Park Nursing Home. She is survived by her only daughter, Marion Bethea, Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, Gerald (Mida), Oromocto, NB; sister, Elva Archibald, Truro; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Carter, Pleasant Valley and Delma Morrisey, Truro; daughters-in-law, Annette Carter and Erma Conrad; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Tom; son, Wayne; six brothers and six sisters. Her family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nursing staff on 3-D at CEHHC and the staff at Wynn Park Nursing Home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31 at 1 pm until time of the memorial service at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception after the service with interment to follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
