Garnet Gray

Passed on: August 23rd, 2014

GRAY, Garnet Norman
June 21, 1957 – Moose Jaw, SK
August 23, 2014 – Calgary, AB
Our dearly beloved father, brother, uncle and good friend passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in the compassionate care of Southwood Hospice. Family and friends were a constant presence, sharing laughter and tears, and treasured memories of his life. Thanks to everyone who was there for support. Garnet was a kind and generous individual, always ready to lend a hand to a friend or stranger. He was a man who made a difference. Garnet spent most of his career in the steel industry and owning his own business, “Sundance Crane”, with his good friend Conrad Perrault. Their catch phrase was “Blood, Sweat and Gears”!
Garnet is lovingly remembered by his daughter Haley; brother Marvin (Doreen) Gray; sister Bonnie (Metro) Stasyk; nieces and nephews, Curtis (Amaris) Gray and their children, Annabelle and Gabe, Cara (Joe) Steiner, Tyler (Erica) Gray, Karla Stasyk (Mark Penney), Cody Stasyk (Chloe Sardin); his aunts Lois Shauf and Leona Gray; uncle Charlie Gray; and many wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his father Robert Gray in 1976 and by his mother Alma Gray-Schock in 2014.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Gathering of family and friends will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY Fish Creek on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a public visitation on Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
