Orma Grace Connor (nee Faragher) passed away on August 23rd, 2014 at the Kyle Health Centre. Orma is survived by her daughter Dianne (Gordon) Moreside, grandchildren Jaclyn (Chris) Davis, Steven (Shawna) Moreside, Liam (Sheree) Connor and great-grandchildren Brady, Lauryn and Emilee Davis, Cohen Moreside and Nevin and Rohen Connor and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving Husband Maurice (Mike) Connor, beloved son Terrance Connor, parents Edward and Emma Faragher, brother Lorne Faragher, mother and father in law Mina and Ivor O'Connor, sisters in law Eileen Plant, Florence Rowland, Tibbie Plant, Goldie Faragher, brothers in law Vic Plant, Reg Rowland, Alden Plant, nephews Sheldon Plant, Ivor Plant and niece Colleen Hackl. Orma was born in Hillsdale Ontario on January 15, 1926. She was the only child born to Edward and Emma Faragher. She grew up in Hillsdale and attended school there. She completed Grade 10 and then decided to join the workforce. As a young woman, she worked at a tourist resort in Orr Lake, Ontario and at a restaurant in Elmville, Ontario. Orma married Maurice (Mike) Connor on June 15th, 1946 at her home in Hillsdale, Ontario. They spent the next year in Ontario until moving out west to Saskatchewan. Mike and Orma farmed in the Cabri area from 1947-1958. The family moved to Swift Current in 1959 and remained in their home until 2009 at which time they moved to Kyle to be closer to family. Orma loved paint by numbers, puzzles, to play scrabble and yahtzee as well as numerous card games. She was devoted to her husband of 66 years and her family. She loved to spend as much time as possible visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed coffee with her friends at the Coop Coffee Shop in the Wheatland Mall. Mike and Orma loved to go out in the country for drives to check on the fall harvest. They were also on the road travelling to numerous Golf and Horseshoe tournaments that Mike was competing in. They made many good friends during these trips that they kept in contact with for many years. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Veterans Plot with Rev. Jim MacNaughton officiating. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 56, 239 1st Ave. N.E., Swift Current, Sk. S9H 2B3. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
