Peacefully at her residence, with her husband by her side, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, of Carmen Annie MacDonald. Carmen leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Charles “Al” MacDonald and her 5 children, Janis Lukey (Bill), Phil (Nancy Henderson), Chris (Yadav Pudaseni) all of Ottawa, Jo Diane Moxness (Ron) of Kensington, P.E.I., and Brenda Caldwell (Stephen) of Derry, New Hampshire. Her seven grandchildren brought much joy to her life. She will be missed by Terry (Stephanie), Jay (Tanya), Michael, Elli (Mike), Cory (Lauren), Jonathan (Sarah), Tara. Great-grandmother of Ana Moxness. Predeceased by her first husband Sgt. Joe O’Neill (WWII casualty), her parents George Allan and Annie Stewart (nee McNeill, formerly of French River, P.E.I.), her sisters Marion, Helen, Ruth and her brothers George and Preston (husband of Peggy). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to her good friend and caregiver Christine March, also to Drs. Louise Coulombe, Laura O’Brien, Hans Dy and to the Ravine’s staff. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Ravines Retirement Residence on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Carmen, please consider the Ottawa Mission or the charity of your choice.
