Cynthia Rose Fiander Cormier, age 48, passed away Sep 9th, 2014, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Cynthia was born October 8, 1965 in Yarmouth to Harold & Valda Fiander. She attended Yarmouth High School and then went on to study Early Childhood Education at St. Joseph’s Children’s Centre in Halifax. She dedicated her life to assisting others, especially children. She spent most of her working life as the Director of Child Care Services for Tri-County Regional School Board. Aside from spending time with her family & friends, Cynthia loved the ocean and one of her favorite pastimes was to spend time at the beach, jumping waves, collecting seashells, beach glass and chasing mermaids. Cynthia is survived by her mother, Valda; her 3 children, Dominique, Shania and Lynn (Mohammad); 2 Grandsons Issa & Arya; husband Patrice; brothers & sisters, Veronica (Brian), Louise (Jim), Mike (Marilyn), Dick (Rosemary), Donna (Neil), Harold (Kathie), Danny (Kim), Charlie (Maggie), Lori (George), Tim (June), Nancy (Ivan), Gail (Peter), Robert (Lisa), Fred (Olga), Elsie (Ken), Wally (Sarah), Sherri. Many nieces and nephews. Cynthia was predeceased by her father Harold. Cremation has taken place. At her request a private Memorial Service will be held. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made at Sweeney’s Funeral home to a fund which has been set up for her younger children, Dominque & Shania or to the Gilles Boudreau & Friends Cancer Help Fund.
