Ronald Robin Elliott

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear father Ronald Robin Elliott, 85, of Amherst, NS on Thursday, September 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Beatrice (Clarke) Elliott.
After growing up in a family carnival, Ron went on to own and operate "Ron Elliott Shows", a family carnival which traveled throughout Atlantic Canada for 45 years. What he didn't have in height, he made up for in personality. No matter where Ron went in his travels, he made it his mission to educate anyone willing to listen on the beauty and the people of Nova Scotia, always handing out a NS pin. He enjoyed watching hockey and was a big fan of minor sports. He was a collector of memorabilia taking great enjoyment in organizing and showcasing his collections. Ron also loved spending time with his family.
Ron was an active member of his community always with a story to tell. He was involved in the creation of "Wake up Call" Awareness Day, encouraging yearly medical checkups. He was also a lifelong Tory.
His spirit is carried on by his four children, Patsy (Fred) Martin of Summerside, PEI, Peggy O'Brien of Amherst, David (Kelly) of Abbotsford, BC and Scott (Barbara) of Halifax, daughter in law Sherrie Elliott of Amherst, grandchildren Tricia, Christopher, Alanna, Elizabeth, Renee, Michelle, Jenna, Sam, Jack, Maxx, Jorja, Casey, Wren and Oliver, 7 great grandchildren, brother Clyde (Bonita) of Fenwick and many nieces and nephews, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Betty (Wheaton), his second wife Yvonne (Burbine), one son Ronnie Brian, two sisters, Areatha Hoeg, Doreen Clark, three brothers Frank, Glynn and Wendell and one son in law Jim O’Brien.
A social gathering for his family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 2 to 9 pm at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS. (902-667-9906)
