Our dear Debe passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2014. She was the loving daughter of Férreol (Albert) and Catherine Carpentier, of Bible Hill and the devoted sister of Gary (Charlene) Carpentier, Cole Harbour, Lisa (Christopher MacKnight) Carpentier, Truro and Tina (Robert Ganz) Carpentier, Montreal, Que. Debe was the special friend of Stephen Tree. Debe was a cherished aunt to Stephanie (Luke Searle) Carpentier, St. John’s, Nfld., Matthew Carpentier and Nicholle Carpentier, both of Cole Harbour, Jonathan, Evan and Nolan Ganz, all of Montreal, Que.; special great-aunt to Maximus Searle, St. John’s, Nfld. Born in Toronto, Ont., she grew up in Truro where she graduated from the Cobequid Educational Centre and the Nova Scotia Teachers College with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. Debe was a kind and giving person who devoted most of her life to aiding and supporting others. Although she dealt with numerous health problems she always put others needs first. She loved music, nature, travel, spending time with friends and her beloved family. Her warm smile, reassuring touch, and encouraging words will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29 from 6-8 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro; funeral mass on Tuesday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro with Father Daruisz Miskowicz officiating. Reception to follow in Campbell Hall. Interment at a later date at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
