(1923-2014) Passed away on September 27th, 2014 at the Caribou Memorial Veteran Pavilion, William F. Peddle, veteran Second World War, 59th (NFLD.) Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery; member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Pleasantville, Branch No. 56; past Grand Exalted Ruler (National Leader) of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Canada and Life Member of the Grand Lodge and St. John's Elks Lodge No. 245. Predeceased by his parents Abram and Maria (Hopkins) Peddle and sister Grace. Left to remember his life are Hilda (Bursey), his wife of 67 years, sons Keith (Anne) St. John's, Francis (Linda) and grandson Liam, Ottawa; niece Valerie Steen, Mukilteo, Washington and nephew Kurt Steen, St. John's. Visitation at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday 2-4 & 7-9, and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9, followed by cremation. Funeral Service to take place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2:00pm with inurnment in Columbarium at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. A big thank you to the staff at the Caribou Memorial Veteran Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children or The Last Post Fund.
