It is with heart felt sadness that we the family announce the passing of Jon MacGregor MacIntosh on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at home with loving family at his side.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Alex and Helen (MacGregor) MacIntosh.
Jon was a dairy farmer with his father Alex then later with his two sons Stephen and David.
Jon was Past Master of Thistle Lodge Port Morien and a PNG of Martin Lodge Donkin. He was a member of C.B. Federation of Agriculture and also on the Board of Directors of Eastern Dairy Food’s and Scotsburn Dairy for 25 years.
Jon is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Edith (Walton) MacIntosh; loving sons, Stephen (Carolyn), David(Wendy); precious grandchildren, Scott (Alicia) and Jenna MacIntosh; loving sister Joyce (late George) Holden; special grandnephews, Sean (Colleen), Stephen Edwards; special niece Marilyn (Allister Edwards); sisters-in law, Harriet (Earl Hann), Frema (Lloyd Graham); brothers-in-law, William (Doreen Walton), A.J (Gerry) MacDonald and a number of cousins.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, 2 p.m. St. John’s United Church Port Morien. There will be a Masonic Lodge service held at 1:45 p.m. before the memorial service.
Family flowers only, donations can be made in Jon’s memory to Palliative Care, St. John’s United Church Port Morien or Parkinson Society.
