(1918 - 2014) - Passed peacefully away on September 30, 2014 at the Caribou Memorial Veteran Pavilion, John Melville Graham (Mel, Poppie), veteran second world war 166 (NFLD) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, First 400, member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #56, and retired member of Provincial Civil Service. Predeceased by his parents Ian and Jean Graham, first wife Isabella (Isa) Graham. Leaving to mourn with great sadness his wife Arlene, daughter Moire, husband Gordon Neary, son Ian, wife Geri. Also left with loving memories grandchildren, Mark Neary (Melanie Caines), Allison Neary (Gord Snow), John Graham (Amy Brazil), Andrea Graham Brophy (Scott Brophy), Ryan Graham (Tori Cook), one great grand-daughter Sicily Brophy, sister Jean Hanley, brother Allistair Graham, many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Butler, nurses and caregivers at the Pavilion VP2 South. Visitation will take place at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, October 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Friday, October 3 from 10-11:30 a.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Queen's Road, on Friday, October 3 at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant cemetery, Field of Honor.
