Heidi Hilda Patricia Pittman (nee Murray)

August 10, 1953 - September 26, 2014. Passed away peacefully at home in Calgary, AB in the presence of her family HEIDI HILDA PATRICIA PITTMAN nee MURRAY. An extraordinary wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and teacher formerly of Freshwater, Placentia Bay Newfoundland. Leaving with treasured memories are her loving husband & best friend, Russell, her beautiful daughters Holly (Neil Greene) & Heidi (Trevor Rideout), her precious grandchildren Aidan & Maeve, and her canine companion Alley. She also leaves her loving and caring sisters Ce-Ann (John Maher) & Daphne (Maurice Bavis), her large circle of nieces and nephews, her lifelong friend Evelyn Maher and members of the Pittman family. Predeceased by her parents, Harry & Hilda Murray, her sister Maureen Myers, parents-in-law Cyril & Lorraine Pittman and the recent passing's of brothers-in-law Gordon & Kevin Pittman. In addition to being a dedicated wife & mother her passion was to teach her "angels" for over 36 years in Newfoundland and Alberta. She was a mentor, an avid reader and loved her travels and adventures with her husband. Along her journey in life Heidi was a trusted friend who shared her laughter & humour along with her spirit & compassion to all. In celebration of her life her family & friends will gather at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home in Calgary on Monday, September 29th from 1-4pm, prior to her last adventure home to Placentia, NL. Visitation will take place at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia, NL on Thursday, October 2nd from 7pm to 9pm, and Friday, October 3rd from 1pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11am on Saturday, October 4th at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia. Inurnment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations can be made to the Gordon Pittman Math Bursary, at Memorial University of Newfoundland www.munalum.ca.
