SYLVESTER - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Margie Terris of Sylvester, in her 86th year. She has been a resident of Valley View Villa for the past few months, where she passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2014.
Born in Dartmouth, she was the youngest daughter of the late A. J. and Helen Crook.
She lived in Dartmouth until her marriage, when she moved to Pictou Co.
Margie had three passions, her family, her church, and her music. Over the years, she sang in many choirs, was choir director at Alma-Green Hill United Church and at one time had a large Junior Choir.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Frank, Sylvester; a daughter Laurie, Moncton; brother Drewie; and sister, Evelyn (Rev. Gordon Stewart), both of Dartmouth. She will be remembered by many relatives throughout the Province.
Margie was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Kenneth, Berwick and Allan, Kingston.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2 o’clock Thursday from Alma-Green Hill United Church with Rev. Meredith Fraser officiating. Reception will follow in the Alma Fire Hall. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
