Hannah Jones

Passed on: October 19th, 2014

Hannah Margaret Jones
March 8, 1926 – October 19, 2014
Hannah (Carr) was a farm girl in Tisdale, SK. At age 19 she married a farm boy, Eric Jones, also from Tisdale. She was a hard worker on the farm, and also an excellent cook, gardener and seamstress. Her life as a loving wife to Eric, and mother to Linda and Shirley, was filled with hope, purpose and accomplishment. Hannah had a deep love for the truths she learned from the Bible and volunteered countless hours of her free time sharing those truths with others, and thus her spiritual family grew large. She loved people, had a generous heart, and was very hospitable. After many years in Tisdale, Hannah and Eric moved to Moose Jaw in the mid 70’s and resided there until they moved to Ft. Qu’Appelle in 2003 to be near their daughter Shirley. Eric passed away in November 2010. Hannah was a beautiful, witty woman who, sadly, spent her final years with Alzheimer’s disease. She was at Echo Park Lodge in Ft. Qu’Appelle, when she fell asleep in death at age 88. A big thank you goes to the staff for all their loving care. Hannah’s strong faith and dedication to her God, Jehovah, never wavered. She is now safely in His memory, awaiting His promise of a resurrection to perfect life on a paradise earth. Hannah is survived by her daughter Linda (Gary) Goodridge of Tappen, BC; daughter Shirley (Norbert) Kotrla of Ft. Qu’Appelle, SK; grandchildren Ben (Roxanne) Kotrla of Winnipeg, MB; Mandi (Blazej) Taras of Bulgaria; Tanis (Rodney) Sumners and three great-grandchildren of Edmonton, AB; her brother John Carr of San Jose, CA; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside ceremony for family and friends will be held in Tisdale, Saskatchewan at a later date. In living memory of Hannah, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
