It is with great sadness that the family of the late Helena Anderson announce her passing on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sisters: Rose Marie (Lorne) Wheeler, St. John’s, Mary Elizabeth Perkins, Florida and Edna Jean Ivory, New Hampshire; brothers: Thomas (Laura), Bay Roberts, Ross (Deborah), Deer Lake and Cecil (Sylvia), Corner Brook; fondly remembered by sisters-in-law: Marjorie, Joyce and Beverley; special friend Mary Normore; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helena was predeceased by father Thomas and mother Helena; brothers William, Frederick and Allister, sister-in-law Iris, brothers-in-law Eugene Perkins & Larry Ivory. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Saturday 2-4 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O'Connell Drive with Majors Max and Doreen Sturge officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Temple Memorial Fund.
