Ron passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Vancouver.
Much loved son of the late Jane (nee Darrach) and Morley MacWilliams. Loved by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kate and Ralph Hannum and Elizabeth and Brian Marks. He will be dearly missed by his nephews, Nick and Alex Hannum and Carson Marks.
Special thanks to his dear friend, Ken van Ochten, for his valued friendship over the years and for his compassion and support during the last year of Ron's life. Many thanks to Ken's sister Marion for her much appreciated companionship.
Ron's sense of humour never failed him during his year-long battle with his health. He was a caring and generous man. He leaves behind many good friends in Vancouver with special mention to Harry Cope. His travels took him from hiking the heights of Machu Picchu to sailing the waters off the coast of Mexico.
A graveside service will be held at Argyle Shore Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014.
