Robert was very community minded and served on many boards and committees throughout the years. These included being an officer of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party, Cumberland Regional School Board, Family and Children’s Services and was an elected officer of Cumberland Fish and Game. Robert and his wife Edith Anne also supported many local charities, in particular the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre from its beginnings. He was a husband, father, avid gardener and a great sportsman, with a love and appreciation of his many hunting dogs.
Some of his most cherished times were spent with his family at the cottage in Tidnish and at his hunting camp at Long Lake.
His moral compass was family first and always a gentleman.
