It is with very heavy hearts that the family of the late Ann Marie Pennell announce her peaceful passing with her family near her side, at the Palliative Care Unit on Monday, November 17, 2014 in her 67th year. Leaving to mourn with strong and loving memories, son Shawn Pennell (Patricia); 3 special grandchildren: Thomas (Rebecca), Felicia (Ryan), and Donovan; special great-grand-daughter Emery, all residing in Corner Brook; brother Kitchener Pennell, Corner Brook, George (Pam), NS. She will be deeply missed by her special aunt Theresa Power; numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ann was a loyal Union activist and will be missed deeply by her Union buddies, especially Donna Ryan, Brenda Leger, and Ernest Green. She was a friend to all. Ann was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth Pennell (James “Jimmy” Campbell); sister-in-law Alice Pennell; special cousins Sheila Ereaut and Jason Fisher as well as many other relatives and friends. The family would like to send a big thank-you to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, 2D, and the Rehab Unit for the professional care they provided. Thank-you to Dr. Griffin and his secretaries for all they have done over the past several years. Thank-you to Dr. Dunn and Dr. Lafferty for helping take care of Ann in her final days with us. In keeping with Ann’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Father Ambrose Hynes. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Most Holy Redeemer Church Building Fund.
