Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer, Eric Graham Paul, age 74 years. Predeceased by his wife, Roma (2013); parents: Gideon and Lily; and brothers: Austin and Martin. Left with cherished memories are his daughter, Nancy (Greg Kirby); son, Anthony (Joy Hart, and her sons Matthew and Jack); sisters: Jennifer Hill (Graham), Rosemary White (George) and Carolyn (Paul Shoemaker); sisters-in-law: Ruby Lister, Patricia Vincent, and Sandra Eaton; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends - including numerous colleagues from the engineering and construction industry. Eric was a devoted husband and father, and a dedicated friend, who always thought of others and provided acts of kindness throughout his life even during his fight with cancer. Still grieving the loss of his beloved wife, Eric faced his cancer diagnosis with strength and courage. His bravery in the face of adversity was a source of strength to his family. The family wish to extend a special thank you to Eric's family physician, Dr. Mercedes Penton and her staff for their loving care, as well as the staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre and the Palliative Care Unit. The exemplary care and compassion shown by the health care professionals were a great comfort. Also, a special thank you to family friend, Dr. Pamela Snow, for her kindness and support. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Sunday, November 23, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, and on Monday, November 24, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place from St. James United Church, Elizabeth Avenue, on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 am. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in Eric's memory may be made to St. James United Church, The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, or a charity of one's choice.
