On Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, Grace (Libbey) Galbraith passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily Libbey.
Besides her parents, Grace was predeceased by her husband, Alexander 'Sonny' and her son, Wayne. She was also predeceased by siblings, Roy Libbey, Mae MacDonald, Phyllis Burke and Frances Horosco and three sisters in infancy.
She is survived by grandchildren, Erica LeDrew and Tyler and Robert Galbraith, as well as five great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Paula Galbraith.
Grace worked for many years at Oak Hall and was a volunteer with the Welcome Wagon. She was a long-standing member of the IODE and Seaview Golf Club and was treasurer of Hardwood Hill Cemetery. Grace was a dedicated wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, making sure her family was always taken care of. She was the first person family members turned to in time of need. She enjoyed crafting including, upholstery work, sewing and knitting. She spent many hours baking goodies for her family and friends to enjoy.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. Galbraith. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A service will be held at the United Heritage Church at 2 p.m on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Autism Society of Cape Breton.
