Margery Phyllis Hudson (Morgan)

It is with deep sadness that we must announce that Margery Phyllis Hudson (Morgan) was called home on Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Amherst, NS. She was 94 years of age.
Margery spent most of her life in Halifax, latterly in Fall River prior to re-locating to Amherst in her final years. She was married to Roy B. Hudson for some thirty-six years, gracing the world with Sandra and a son, Wayne, who died in infancy; as well as her daughter Sandra, Margery raised and was a significant mother figure to Brenda. She was pre-deceased by a brother Jim, sister Evelyn, and son in law, Charles. She was an employee of Simpsons and was a fixture in the hosiery department for years. Margery thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Margaret Rose Friendship Club, and Catholic Children of Mary group. She especially enjoyed her special times at the cottage in Musquodobit with all members of her family and where many great memories were created with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra, beloved grandchildren Chuck (Sherry) MacInnes, Suzanne (Tony) Ratchford, Craig (Kim) MacInnes, Heather (Keith) MacInnes. Seven great-grand children, Sarah, Erin, Ryan, Nathan, Colin, Kyle and Jordan and a great, great grandchild, Joseph constitute her earthly family along with several nieces and nephews and sisters-in law, Helen Rout and Mary Morgan.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) with Mass at St. Rose of Lima, Fall River, on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11 am, Father Duncan MacMaster and Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lr. Sackville.
Margery's family would like to thank her caregivers at Victoria Manor who were like a second family to her for their unwavering care and support over the years, especially Amy, Amy LPN, Cecilia, Kristi and Rachelle.
Those wishing to make a donation may do so to the VON, Amherst, or the LA Animal Center, or the charity of your choice.
