Irene MacAulay

Born: April 10th, 1936

WALKERVILLE – Irene Florence Aleta MacAulay, 78, Walkerville, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by her family.
Born in Pugwash, she was a daughter of the late Chandler Gilbert “Praw” and Aleta Elizabeth (Murdock) Murray. Irene worked alongside her husband Bud in the family business, MacAulay Lobster Barn, for over 30 years. She represented Avon and Fuller Brush for many years and greatly enjoyed cake decorating. Irene was a member of Maranatha Bible Church, New Glasgow. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with every fiber of her being. Despite physical pain and discomfort, Irene possessed an enduring faith in Jesus Christ, with whom she will celebrate Christmas this year.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Clarence Robert “Bud” MacAulay; children, Maureen O’Hagan, Lourdes; Marilyn MacAulay, New Glasgow; Pauline Murphy, Churchville; Brian (Joanne) MacAulay, Westville; Brenda MacAulay, Walkerville; Margie (Bill) Goodall, Cole Harbour; Marjorie (Jack) Fraser, New Glasgow; Adam (Jennifer) MacAulay, Riverton; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Murray, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou; several aunts, uncles; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son, Allen in infancy; grandson, Chandler in infancy; brother, Gilbert Murray.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel with Pastor Jerry Stearns officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
