Earl Lawrence Fisher

FISHER, Earl Lawrence, Jr. - 50, Valley, Colchester County, formerly Fort McMurray, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Earl was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his partner, Patricia Petrock, Fort McMurray, Alberta; stepfather, Raymond Hillier, Thorburn; sisters, Brenda Fisher (Kevin Webb), Valley; Tammy Hillier, Truro; brothers, Austin, Tatamagouche; Ron, Sudbury, Ontario; nieces and nephews, Travis and Megan Snell; Diana, Johnathan, Ronnie, Kevin and Andrew Fisher; Lauren Hillier, Laurena Moore; great nieces, Jacia and Danica Snell, Paisley Hillier. Earl was predeceased by his parents, Earl Lawrence and Shirley Ruth (MacPhee) Fisher. Earl was employed by Kal Tire Limited in Fort McMurray for the past eight years and enjoyed his life and work in Alberta. He was an avid NASCAR and country music fan and enjoyed his visits home to Nova Scotia to spend time with family and attend Cavendish Beach Music Festival. Earl was a bright light in all of our lives and his humor and loving, giving heart will be greatly missed. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Hematalogy-Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (8th floor) at VG Site, QEII, Halifax; the care and compassion you gave to Earl will not be forgotten. Also, a special thank-you to Dr. Jenny; your care and support through the past eight months is greatly appreciated. A day of remembering to celebrate Earl’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Truro and District Lions Club, 1100 Prince Street, Truro. Donations in Earl’s memory to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, (8th floor), VG Site, QEII, are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
