It is with deep sorrow that we, the family, announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle and friend, Brian Patrick Marusiak, 44, of New Waterford on Dec. 16, 2014, at his home in Rothesay, N.B.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of Linda (Kane) McIsaac and the late Brian Marusiak.
Brian was employed as a manager at Papa John's Restaurant in Alberta and later worked at various call centers in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He was known to be extremely handy and was able to tackle any task, whether it was electrical, plumbing or carpentry. Brian single-handedly built a deck on his family home in New Waterford several years ago which stands strong to this day. He thoroughly enjoyed coming home for the holidays to visit with all his family, namely his nieces and nephew.
Surviving are his mother, Linda (stepfather, Allie) McIsaac; brother, Warren (Alicia), Alberta; sisters, Kathy (Sheldon) Kuervers, Saskatchewan, Sherri (Richard) McNeil, Sackville, N.S., Melanie Marusiak, Sydney, N.S.; nieces and nephew, Jessica, Kayla, Courtney, Myles, Elizabeth, Maddi, Zoe, Brianna and Mya; maternal grandfather, Buddy Kane; paternal grandmother, Cecilia Marusiak.
Besides his father, Brian was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Betty Smith and paternal grandfather John Marusiak.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass of celebration for Brian will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford.
