Passed peacefully away at the Glenbrook Lodge in the presence of her family, Patricia Isabel Winsor (Cross) December 18, 2014, aged 79. Predeceased by her husband Harold, son Douglas, parents Herbert and Isabel Cross. Leaving to mourn sons, David (Elizabeth) Halifax, Derek (Michelle) St. John's, Donald (Helene) Victoria BC and daughter Debbie (Walter) Chicago. Also her 5 grandchildren, Becky, Erin, Christopher, Jonathan and Erik, brother Bill (Bernice) New Glasgow, as well brother in laws Don (Kay), Happy Adventure, Peter (Betty), Art (Jane) St. John's, Len (Donna) Grand Falls/Windsor and Sister In law Diane (Hubert) Happy Adventure and many nieces and nephews. In addition, her friends from the many organizations Pat was involved in over the years especially the Tuesday afternoon girls who have been her strength over the past 6 years. A special thank you to the staff of Glenbrook Lodge who were her "family" for the past few years. Pat was very a proud alumnus of Bishop Spencer College and spent most of her life taking on leadership roles in such organizations as the Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, The Navy League of Canada and most of all her connection with the friends of Bill W. Pat was a loyal public servant having spent her career in the Human Resources Departments of the RCMP, Transport Canada, Fisheries & Oceans and Public Works. Throughout her career Pat aided many employees of these and other departments of the Federal Government prepare for financial security in retirement. Upon her retirement, she traveled with her husband Harold to every part of North America with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska. They are now reunited to continue that journey into eternal rest. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or a charity of one's choice. A memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be held Saturday, January 24th 2:00 pm at Wesley United Church with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
