Lawrence Foster

Passed on: December 28th, 2014

FOSTER: Lawrence John
April 8, 1923 - December 28, 2014
Lawrence Foster was born to Esther Schumacher and Lawrence Foster Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland on April 8th, 1923. After moving to Canada, he met and married the love of his life, Irene Allinson. LJ started his career as a switchman for CN rail and shortly after, settled in Beechy, SK, where they raised a wonderful family of five children. Lawrence spent over 30 years working for Pioneer Grain, before retiring. His entire family was always important to Lawrence and he enjoyed being surrounded
by them, at every opportunity. His wry sense of humour was enjoyed and appreciated and misunderstood by many. He leaves his legacy of love and humour to his family in many of the things he has said and done over the years. He enjoyed a long full life of love and laughter. He was fortunate enough to enjoy it right until the very end and for that we are all grateful. Dad quietly passed away on Sunday, December 28 with his sons and daughters by his side. Mom made her one last call to him and he gladly went to meet her. He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Gary) Baker, Joanne (Ray) Trew, Doreen (Vern) Rudneski, his sons, Lee (Lilianne), Hal (Tanya), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a brother, brother-in-laws, sisters and sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. We would like to acknowledge and thank all of the Watrous Health Care providers for their wonderful care and compassion
that was shown Dad during his stay in Watrous. A memorial service for dad will be held in Beechy in the spring as that is when dad looked forward to coming back home. Details will be announced at a later date. The Funeral Service took place in Fotheringham's Funeral Chapel, Watrous, SK on Friday, January 2, 2015 with Rev. Alison West officiating. The Eulogy was given by Steven Trew. Pallbearers were Steven Trew, Rae-Ann McLeod, Matthew Foster, Adam Foster, Tristen Trew and Derrick Foster. Organist was Lil Gingrich. Interment took place in Watrous Cemetery. A Funeral lunch was served at Watrous Seniors' Drop-In Centre. For online
