Murray was born in Moose Jaw on Feb 17th, 1931 and passed away peacefully with his wife Ruth by his side at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon on Jan 17th 2015.
Murray was predeceased by his first wife Mary in 1982, son Stephen in infancy, twin granddaughters Catherine and Florance in infancy, his parents Laurie and Eileen and brother Gordon.
Murray will be sadly missed by his wife Ruth, and his children Randy (Wendy), Mitch (Nancy), Brenda (Kelly) McElree, Kevin, Scott, Russell (Michele), Sandra Junor and Shawn.
He will also be missed by his fourteen grandchildren, Amy (Will), Jill (Tim) Camitta, Dan (Shauna), Mathew, Cathie, Jayne (Peter), Rory (Krista), Kelly (Janelle), Kevin, Larissa, Chloe, Emily, Riley and Erin; and five great-grandchildren Kaleb, Fernando, Stella, Desiree, Ayla.
Murray will be dearly missed by Ruth's family, Brad (Elaine), Janice (Don), Nancy (Peter) and Pam (Ian) along with ten grandchildren Natalie (David), Rudy, Jason (Erica), Justin, Sara, Valerie, Ryan (Paula), Joscelyn (Erin), Eric, Chad and one great-grandchild Emily; sister-in-law Marion Drackett.
His first job was working for his father at the stockyards in Moose Jaw. He then moved to Vancouver to work as a milkman for a few years. While on the train to Vancouver, he met Mary Gallagher, his future wife. When he returned to Moose Jaw he married Mary and started his family. While in Moose Jaw he worked as a car salesman for Macaam Motors, then moving to Estevan where he managed the Estevan Credit Bureau for two years. From there he moved to Regina, Regina Beach and McLean. He worked for Westeel Rosco, General Electric and lastly SaskPower. After retirement in 1995 Murray and Ruth moved to Oak Lake Resort in Manitoba, where, until recently, they greatly enjoyed summers at the lake, and winters in Mesa, AZ.
At Murray's request there will be a family graveside service at Regina Beach in the spring.
