Robert Fraser

Robert Edwin “Bob” Fraser of Durham, passed away in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
Bob was born in Truro, December 3, 1948, the son of John M. Fraser and Edith A. (MacKenzie) Fraser.
Bob lived in Bible Hill and Windsor before moving to Durham in 1961. He graduated from West Pictou District High School in 1967 and Mount Allison University in 1970, Bachelor of Commerce.
Bob lived most of his life in Durham helping his parents run the family business, Frasers Grocery and Supply. Since October 2012 Bob resided at Shady Oaks Residential Support Home in Middle River and attended the New Hope mental health support group.
Bob is survived by his mother Edith who resides at Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home; brother Kenneth, sisters Ruth Lann, Margaret Fraser (Alan Buckler); nephew Ben Lann (Mary Baker), grandnephew Connor, niece Marie Lann (Justin Doyle); Jeff, Stephanie and Samantha Buckler; maternal aunt Bessie MacAulay.
Bob was predeceased by his father John and his brother-in-law Peter Lann.
Arrangements are under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29 from 6-8 p.m. and a reception will be held at Durham Church Hall on Friday, January 30 from 2-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place with interment in Durham Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Aberdeen Hospital Foundation in support of New Hope Program Community Supports for Adults.
